The British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI) has two student placement opportunities available for the summer of 2014 (July to September).

This is an ideal opportunity for two students to gain valuable work experience in a busy membership and marketing support role for a 3 month placement period.

Successful students will be supporting the BASI Membership & Marketing Department with a number of specific projects. These are detailed below. As well as working on clearly defined projects, the students will be working across all departments gaining valuable knowledge and practical experience in a fun, training based organisation.
BASI Student Placement Opportunity 
The placement will be 3 months.   Office working hours are normally Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch (unpaid).  There may be some weekend working required at member events. Placement rate is £7.50 per hour.

Membership Placement – Key Project &Tasks
Members Job Opportunities Board (contacting past and prospective employers and inviting them to post jobs for the winter season 2014/15).
Member offers updates and uploading offers onto the web site in a timely manner.
Online stock sale including the recording and fulfilment of all online shop orders taken via BASI Promotions.

Marketing  Placement – Key Project & Tasks
Scan, upload and archive all back copies of BASI News in a manner that they can be viewed online by the Membership.
Sort and archive BASI images (video, slide, photography).
Assist with web site update requests.

BASI Student Placement Opportunity

Review and update procedure management documents for all tasks undertaken.
Actively contribute to staff meetings as and when required.
Observe all Health & Safety procedures, practices and policy of BASI with a view to preserving your own personal safety and the safety and wellbeing of colleagues.
Be prepared to assist with other tasks and duties which may from time to time be required to promote the smooth and effective running of the Association.
Prepare an end of placement report detailing key achievements and outputs delivered by the placement and the experience gained together with suggestions for developments and or improvements in this placement opportunity.

Note to applicants:
The post will be based at the BASI office in Grantown on Spey, Morayshire. The successful candidate(s) will have to make their own arrangements with regard to accommodation and travel. Whilst this is a beautiful location to work, it is a rural area in the Cairngorms National Park and rental accommodation is at a premium and public transport links are scarce.
