This year’s Helly Hansen Beauty and the Beast trail running marathon is shaping up to be a monster! Alongside the beastly trail marathon, there will be Helly Hansen goodies, free children’s activities, a seating area for spectators and even a bar for that well-earned drink after the race.

Back by popular demand, Helly Hansen will be offering its exclusive ‘baselayer trade in’. Runners are encouraged to bring their old baselayer – from any brand – to the Helly Hansen tent, in exchange for a brand new technical baselayer from Helly Hansen. It will be first come first served, with 50 baselayers on offer, in a range of sizes for both men and women.
Jacqueline Cheung, Marketing & Sales Project Manager at Helly Hansen, says, “Helly Hansen is renowned for its technical baselayers and runners are always keen to trade an old one for a brand new, technical baselayer from Helly Hansen. We always run out quickly, so runners are advised to come to our tent as early as possible.”

New for 2014 will be a range of fun children’s activities, run by experienced primary school teacher and owner of Badger Forest School, Claire Whalley. All activities are free of charge and will include ‘wake and shake’, parachute games and a number of ‘mini beast’ races designed to keep the family entertained, whilst supporting the marathon runners.
Jacqueline continues, “Having Claire from Badger Forest School at the event should really encourage runners to bring their families and make a day of it. There will be lots for everyone to do throughout the day, and we hope that children will be excited and inspired by the activities on offer. We also lots of have prizes and Helly Hansen goodies at the event, including cool Beauty and the Beast temporary tattoos!”

To avoid the age-old problem of turning up with no safety pins on race day, Helly Hansen has teamed up with Event Clips to create some cool Helly Hansen branded clips for race numbers. Runners should visit the Helly Hansen tent and show they have downloaded Helly Hansen’s new Gone On My Catwalk app to receive their free event clips – so no need for safety pins!
