The virtual starting shot for the 2016 Roc d’Azur is set to be fired on February 25, with the opening of the registration window for the 33rd edition, expected to attract over 20,000 participants. A 30-event programme featuring races of all flavours (cross-country, enduro, rides, triathlon, etc.) will bring MTB lovers of all ages and levels together. It all builds up to Sunday, October 9, when the Roc d’Azur will bring the curtain down on five days of racing in an event which will put the world’s best mountain bikers, both men and women, to the test on legendary courses.
This year’s programme has expanded with the addition of a race whose origins lie on the other side of the Pond. This new event, about 40 kilometres long, is meant for riders who want to stray away from the roads without having to hop onto a MTB. Participants will ride custom bikes on dirt tracks and unpaved roads.
Finally, there will be a service centre in the heart of the village to enhance the experience of the competitors and over 100,000 visitors. Participants will find all the information they need here. It will also have course maps, time schedules and interactive maps on display for Roc fans. There will be stand hostesses on duty to help anyone who gets too disoriented and make sure the 33rd edition turns out to be another great celebration of MTB.
