Mark Held (Director of EOCA and General Secretary of EOG) and Nick Brown (Nikwax CEO) are the key guest speakers lined up to present at the OIA’s upcoming sustainability themed Director’s Forum, which will take place during this year’s Outdoor Trade Show (OTS 2014) at Stoneleigh Park, on Wednesday 10th September.
As the second day of the OTS comes to an end, attendees will make their way to the Royal Pavilion for an evening of chat, debate, questions and presentations, followed by a ‘dinner and drinks’ networking opportunity for members of the OIA.
OIA CEO Andrew Denton said: “As the UK’s largest outdoor trade show, OTS is an unbeatable opportunity for the whole industry to get together and conduct some serious business, so it makes sense for us hold the next Director’s Forum there and be a part of it. We expect our forum to stimulate and encourage opinion, debate, conversation amongst colleagues, and ultimately raise the profile of sustainability in the UK as a result of the presentations from the guest speakers that we have lined up.”
Presentations will provide an overview of the sustainability issues which the industry is currently faced with, questioning why this topic seems to be higher on the agenda in Europe and the US than here in the UK, as well as providing essential advice on how to become greener. In addition to key speakers Mark Held and Nick Brown, Luis Brown (Nikwax), Sarah Howcroft (GiftyourGear) and members of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) will present to attendees.
The informal Director’s Forum is open to all senior members of the OIA and provides an opportunity to network with industry colleagues. Places for the OIA Director’s Forum are strictly limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
