The Malay Mail out of Kuala Lumpur has reported a British finding of the most affordable skiing destinations in the world. The information was gathered jointly by Crystal Ski Holidays and Post Office Travel Money, and considered how much a skier would pay for a six-day pass, ski school, rental of all necessary equipment and an average lunch at the closest resort. The full report considered 22 resorts in Europe as well as eight resorts in all of North America. The findings were based on the British Pound and were released in the Ski Resort Report 2013.

Bulgaria and Slovenia Represent Eastern Europe

According to the report, Bansko, Bulgaria is the most affordable place to take a British family this winter for a slide down the mountains.  Bansko is a small town at the base of the Pirin Mountains, and its most popular attraction is the ski resort, which welcomes Bulgarian and European tourists every year. The mountainside resort offers terrific facilities for both skiing and snowboarding while the town itself is home to a number of different hotels from which to choose. Bansko boasts the longest ski season in all of Bulgaria, with skiing and snowboarding available from December 15 to May 15. Due to multimillion Euro updates, the resort has a number of new offerings and features to make the ski experience memorable, enjoyable and comfortable for everyone involved. The average trip, according to the report, was £273.

Kranjska Gora, Slovenia comes in at a reasonable budget at only £326. This ski town is near the Sava Dolinka River and will astound visitors with its scenery. The mountains give a rise to the whole town, which explains its expertise in amazing ski and snowboard experiences. The beautiful Julian Alps hold a variety of adventures for tourists, even those who aren’t interested in skiing. There are plenty of opportunities to explore nature and cultural heritage while uncovering the secrets the mountains try to hide. This vacation getaway is perfect for a mixed family of skiers and those who would rather stay off the slopes. With such attractive ski prices and an array of hotels from which to choose, it’s easy to see why this ski destination is one of Slovenia’s best treasures.

Italy and France on the Western Front

Livigno, Italy hits the affordable range at £351. As Iglu Ski stated, Italy will have “bluebird conditions” this year, which means plenty of fresh new snow and great weather for future skiing opportunities. This town is in the Lombardy region, close to Switzerland and nestled in the Alps. While the ski resort has on-site accommodations, there are other hotels in town, as well as a number of alternative activities for those who want a break from the slopes. Similar to the Slovenia town, this town offers activities such as mountain tours, shopping and a night life so tourists can have the full Italian experience. It is easily accessible and breathtakingly beautiful.

Morzine, France has been blessed with an amazing snowfall this year, which is lucky for British tourists because it is among the most affordable ski resort areas, according to the British report. The total cost for this six day trip is £402. As with the Slovenia resort, Morzine will stun visitors with its breathtaking larger than life mountain views. Morzine is a commune in the Rhone-Alpes region of France, and is a traditional market community settled between mountain peaks. It is home to a number of picturesque chalets and partially wooded slopes. These wooded areas allow skiers to be on the mountains even during poor skiing conditions. This resort is very popular with families because the varied terrain makes it the perfect go-to destination for beginners and those who are not steady on the slopes yet. If this is your idea of the perfect family vacation, book your trip soon, because according to the Daily Mail, spots are filling up fast here.

These ski destinations are the most affordable in the world for British tourists, and they offer much more than six days on the slopes. Visit one this year because the recent snowfall in Italy, France, Slovenia and Bulgaria is guaranteed to make a smooth powdered surface for your skis or snowboard. Bring the family as well – there will always be something for everyone. Enjoy these resorts at the most affordable price possible.
